If you'd like to join NORLSAR and help make a difference to missing people and their families in and around Norfolk, then please contact us by email.
We welcome enquiries if you
think you can:
- Help us with projects -
can you use desktop applications and help us draft our
publications?
- raise funds - we receive
no government funding and rely on our own efforts
- find a training venue -
do you have or know of a venue we could use for training
(tourist attraction, woodland or farm land)?
- take photographs - how
about helping us update our web site photos and come out
with us to take photos as we work and train?
- Hide for the team - fancy
hiding out for us at one of our training events?
- undertake pro bono work -
can you help us with marketing, accounts? and
- finally JOIN US
Just by asking for some details you are not committing and we are fully aware that searching for missing people may not be suitable for everyone.
Send us an e mail and let us know if you are interested
in helping us or joining.
If you are interested in being
a searcher, then you should try and make it to one of our training sessions. The dates and locations can be found on the diary dates page. It's a good idea to let us know you're coming so that you can be informed of any changes.
Should you choose to become a member, you would need to complete our initial training course. We ask that you attend 5 training session and our search technician weekend. To remain on the active call out list, you must complete our minimum training program every year. Details of this can be seen by visiting our training page.
As a trained member, you may also be called out to take part in a search for a missing person overnight or during working hours - so you will always need your gear packed and ready to go at a moment's notice, we ask you to be realistic about your
availability. Talk to us, as we understand that not everyone can be on call all of the time, due to work and family commitments.
Joining our organisation comes with big benefits - you'll be helping people, making new friends, learning new skills and we do try to have a lot of fun.
