POLICE GALA DAY
2008
We were
joined at the Gala Day by Jamie Ayers from
Utility
Warehouse and the free draw for a new mini was a crowd
puller. Any one who signs up with Utility Warehouse for
their energy supply or broadband/telephone services will
help NorLSAR. The company send us 5% of new customers
monthly bill if we introduce them.
If you
would like to learn more you can call their sales team
on 0800 131 3000 and quote our reference B75241 (the
most important bit) and they will estimate how much they
can save you on your energy bills.
Thanks to Jamie we were able to hand out a lot
of leaflets to people and the attractive display of the
entries in our GET FOUND competition also
attracted a lot of interest.

We attend a number of events
throughout the year and are also available to give "a talk
with a difference" to groups; you can meet the searchers and
sometimes we are able to bring search dogs with us and give
demonstrations. If you would like us to visit your group and
give an interesting talk please contact us (see Home page);
we do not charge and only ask for a donation if you are
able.
And thank you
to:
Lingwood Beavers, Claxton & Wymondham Young
Countrysiders
Dereham Young Farmers, North Elmham WI,
Rodean Clean Limited
Virgin Money, Mrs E J Williams, R
N & L J Cobling, Swan Hotel &
Red Hot Soul Band and the Norwich
& Peterborough Building Society
for their kind donations to our
funds.

2007 saw our first attempt at
raising the profile of Norfolk Lowland Search & Rescue
and we are very grateful for the help given to us by David Ruddle of DR Photography.
Thanks to David we were able to up date our web site and
use the photos he took of us. During the summer, a number of photo opportunities
were organised and David took the time to produce a calendar
for us free of charge. |

Help us by contacting
Sarah Toothill for all your FLORISTRY orders. Prices
start from £10 and 10% of any order (quoting NORLSAR)
will be donated to us. Tel 01603 211606.
Recently
our Chair Steve Fairbrass attended a meeting of the
South West Norfolk District Scouts
to collect a cheque for £300 which was raised in
memory of Jono Barber. Jono died in March 2008 when he
fell into the river at Downham on his way home. We were
called out to assist in the search. Since then we have
been amazed at the huge response by Jono's friends and
family who have raised over £900 in his memory. We plan
to use the money to buy more radios for our members and
the new equipment will be dedicated to Jono's memory.
.
AND
We have a number of
collection tins out around the County and thank you to
Rita and her customers from the ADAM & EVE Pub,
Bishopgate, Norwich for their donations which totalled
£29.91. And I can recommend the brie and bacon
baguettes!
We have been lucky enough to receive a number of donations from local businesses and organisations
during 2008. However,
each year we need to raise funds to cover the cost of
insurance, training and equipment, you may not be aware that Search and Rescue in
England receives no government funding. Consequently, we have to find ways to fund ourselves.
NORLSAR would like to extend heart-felt thanks to all those who have supported us and made our work possible. |
