Norlsar is setting up a new project. We are aiming to equip certain team members for water rescue and water search work. The specialist team will assist in times of flooding within Norfolk as well as providing a water based search capability for missing persons.

To achieve our goal we need support with this project to supply and purchase the equipment. The team has raised funds for buoyancy aids and helmets. We have had two pairs of chest waders donated to the team, and Norwich and Peterborough Building Society has funded two waterproof first aid kits.

In addition to equipment we are looking for support in training members up to British Canoe Union two star level and swift water rescue training. This is required to enable the members to work safely and effectively regardless of conditions.

At present we rely on the members privately funding and purchasing a limited amount of equipment for personal use.We are thankful for this but cannot expect them to fund the whole project due to the cost of the team equipment.

We are applying for grants and members are doing fund raising to support our efforts in the purchase of the required equipment such as dry suits, throw lines, safety lines as well as the required canoeing equipment.
