NORLSAR OPERATIONAL STRENGTH IMPROVES

On Sunday 28th February and Sunday 7th March, NORLSAR held a training course at the Emergency Planning Centre of Broadland District Council. This resulted in 4 team members re-validating their existing search team member qualification, 3 new team members gaining the Basic Search Technician qualification to the standard as laid down by ALSAR and 4 members of Norfolk Civil Protection Volunteers qualifying as Basic Search Team Members.

The course was presented by; Andy Botsford- Team Leader - Training Co-ordinator
Assisted by: Stephen Postle - Search Manager - Chairman
James Tibbetts - Search Controller - Webmaster

This now brings NORLSAR's operational strength to:
1 Search Manager
3 Search Controllers
11 Team Leaders
16 Search Technicians

QUARANTINE LAW

"Many of you will be aware that current UK quarantine laws mean UK search and rescue dogs travelling abroad to assist in disasters etc have to spend many months in quarantine on their return.... please follow the link below and sign this petition to change these laws to exempt our UK S&R dogs from this silly ruling!!! The petition will be running until April 15th so have a look now and sign up!!!.....think of these dogs who have to spend 6 months in quarantine!"
